Designed to train and inspire the next generation of changemakers aged 14-17, our Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) this Rotary Year is set to take place in one of the loveliest and most visited tourist spots of the Province of Bukidnon.

Marine Conservation: Exploring the Deep
Beneath the surface of Puntod Shoal lies a vibrant ecosystem worth protecting. On Saturday, we take action through the Installation of Marine Marker Buoy, preserving marine habitats, support responsible navigation and promote sustainable coastal practices.
The successful deployment of marker buoys at Puntod Shoal on March 28, 2026, marks a significant step toward strengthening marine conservation efforts in Gingoog City.
This initiative was spearheaded and funded by the Rotary Club of Heartland Gingoog in support of the protection of Puntod Shoal, which is officially designated as a Marine Reserve under City Ordinance No. 2021-285. The installed buoys serve as clear visual markers and warnings to fisherfolk, identifying the area as a strict no-take zone. This measure aims to safeguard marine biodiversity and promote the sustainable management of coastal resources.
The City Agriculturist’s Office, through its Fisheries Section, provided essential technical support to ensure the smooth and effective implementation of the activity.
The activity was graced by City Mayor Erick G. Cañosa, City Councilor Evelyn Cañosa, BFAR Regional Director Edward B. Yasay, Lt. Col. Ariel Pontillas, the Barangay Council of San Juan, and the officers and members of the Rotary Club, along with other partners and community participants.
Together, we protect our seas for the future.
